Certified tester.
Licensed operator.
Same person.
TJ Backflow Testing and Repair Services LLC was registered in Sanford in 2021. It is run by Tavish Murray, who holds a Florida backflow tester certification and — less common for a tester — Florida drinking water and wastewater operator licenses. The number on your test report is his.
Water work,
not plumbing.
Most backflow testing in Seminole County is a side line for a plumbing, fire protection or irrigation company. This is the other way round: a licensed water operator whose whole business is the water side.
The test is done by the person you spoke to on the phone, with a calibrated gauge, and the report goes to the utility that actually serves your meter — City of Sanford, Seminole County, Lake Mary, OUC, Orange County, whichever it is. Getting that last step right is most of what separates a passed test from a second notice.
We tell you when not to hire us. Longwood, Casselberry and Altamonte Springs test residential devices under their own programs; if your notice says so, we say use the city. We do not replace assemblies — in Florida that is licensed plumbing work — and we say so rather than sell a rebuild that will not last.
The operator licenses are why the service list is longer than a tester's usually is. Line chlorination to AWWA C651, bacteriological clearance sampling, and compliance help for small water and wastewater systems are operator work. Contractors waiting on a clearance and small systems facing FDEP get the same person who does the backflow tests.

Read us the notice. We tell you who it says should do the test, what it costs if that is us, and — if your city already tests for you — that you do not need us at all.
